Kate O'
We meet at the song
A versatile vocalist and performing artist based in Waterford City, Ireland. Known for bringing sophisticated sounds of jazz, soul, and eclectic pop to live audiences and high-end events.
Fallaway House
A jazz-infused trio of eclectic melodies
“Fallaway house always sends me back to a vinyl world of sepia with old recordings of Francoise Hardy, Nina Simone, Judee sill, Ruth Etting and the marvelous Peggy Lee. Singer Kate O’Beirne simply inhabits these numbers and invest them with memories and the wonder of being alive”.
-Pat McEvoy, Waterford News and Star
G Request Show Interview
“The Unique selling point was vocalist
Kate O’Beirne, who has such variety in her voice. She reminded me of Cate Le Bon… Her scatt singing had me on my way to Wowsville.”
-Liam Murphy, Munster Express.

About Kate O'
Kate O’ is a singer/ songwriter, who believes the song is where we truly meet each other, in the expression of our shared human experience.
Kate O’Beirne is a powerhouse on vocals. The soprano has a winning smile, excellent diction, a wide range and that uncanny gift of being able to tell the story of her song. The singer pours all of herself into performance.”
– Pat McEvoy, Waterford News and Star

Kate says “My heart lies in the art of storytelling, a passion that drives every session I lead. I aim to help translate raw emotion into polished music. Whether we are crafting a new song or refining your vocal takes, I provide the technical guidance and creative support needed to make your narrative resonate.” Beyond the mic, Kate O’ offers piano, guitar, and ukulele instruction to empower your songwriting and accompaniment skills.
“Kate has worked extensively with her fellow musicians. Her output to date shows great diversity and versatility in approach and style.”
– Composer Dr Marian Ingoldsby
Kate O’ comes from a musical family where family celebrations have always been marked with a “sing song”, with a performance from everyone. For this reason, it has always been a part social mixing for Kate, a way of getting to know a person, through storytelling and song. She met her best friends and husband playing music and singing in pub music sessions, groups, at open mics or even at church.
When it comes to her solo work, this truly developed through busking. Since 2016 she has been seen street performing and on different stages in the towns of the Southeast of Ireland and beyond. She feels that she doesn’t truly know a town until she has sung there. Busking, she can feel the rhythm of the street and meet the people who pass daily on their way, often staying to listen, or share a story related to a song that has been sung. People tell lots of stories in response. Music connects people with common experiences and feelings. We truly meet at the song.
“Lead vocalist Kate O’Beirne was eyecatching and wonderfully expressive with a voice like Cate le Bon. I was knocked sideways with a riveting selection”
-Liam Murphy, Munster Express.
